Vertical Relief Climbing Center is located in historic downtown Flagstaff. Designed and constructed specifically for climbing, the center features over 6500 square feet of widely varied climbing terrain to suit all abilities and climbing styles. Indoor climbing provides a perfect atmosphere for learning climbing fundamentals, as well as providing a training opportunity for serious climbers.

Climbing terrain consists of 15 top ropes, a lead area, and a bouldering cave. We maintain a variety of routes ranging in difficulty from novice to expert. Check the routes du jour to see the routes that are currently available.

Many new climbers are able to climb up to 5.7 or even higher during their first gym climbing experience. All the gear you need to climb in the gym is available for rent (shoes, harness, belay device and locking biner, chalk bag). If you have your own gear, you are welcome to use it.

Our downtown Flagstaff location provides great opportunities for lodging, dining, shopping, and after climbing entertainment. More importantly, the climbing center serves as a launch point for traditional climbing adventures in the surrounding mountains and canyons of Northern Arizona. We have been accredited by the Climbing Gym Association so you can be assured of a quality experience with our excellent instructors.
